About Us

Nicole Sciacca

Author • Mother • Trainer • Speaker • Dancer • Mobility Specialist

Nicole Sciacca is a professional dancer, mobility specialist, yoga teacher, creator of the on-demand fitness platform sweatandstillness.com and most importantly, mom to her precious son, Beau.

Like most parents, Nicole would often read or make up bedtime stories off the cuff but one story in particular yielded a round of applause. This was the beginning of YOLKED.

She is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. Nicole has lived in Los Angeles for the last 20 years and graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Theater Arts.

Nicole has been featured on Doctors TV, E! Online, Yoga Journal, LA Yoga, a little newspaper called New York Times, and more. She has trained A list celebrities and worked with companies such as Gatorade, ESPNW, Propel, and Whole 30.

Nicole believes that everyone is at their best when they feel good in their skin and can embody that sense of self with confidence and agency each and every day. Her mission is to inspire, educate, and entertain while bringing about her clients' and communities' ageless sense of self! It was only natural that these aspects trickled into her funny stories to her son with a similar aim: Inspire a strong sense of self and spark a bit of bravery.

She resides with her long time partner Matt, her son Beau, and their Australian Labradoodle Moose in Redondo Beach, CA. Though writing is her passion, she hasn’t quit her day job. She offers a wide array of classes Virtual, On-Demand, Memberships and more!

The publisher

Sunny Uneasy is one of many daring characters found in children’s books published by Landon Hail Press including The Galore Gang and Peaple in Paris.

the Illustrator

Desi d’Amani believes illustration and drawing “isn’t art, but a language and expression of who I am.” It was her first art class and art teacher in high school where the dream of being an “artist” began to stir within.

She officially launched DunamisDesi Designs to extend passion for creation as a catalyst that fuels and fulfills not only her dreams, but those of her clients. Her work has consisted of children’s books, paintings, and murals to name a few. When not creating, you can find Desi singing in bands, running, and being an auntie to four lovely kiddos whom she calls her "flowers".

Other books she has illustrated that are published by Landon Hail Press: The Galore Gang
